According to the AML/CFT Law certain categories of service providers (financial service providers and designated non-financial businesses and professions) of the AML/CFT regime are obliged to carry out customer due diligence, to monitor the transactions of their customers, to store certain documents and information on the customers and transactions. From FIU angle the most important obligation of the service providers is to submit SAR in the event of noticing any information, fact or circumstance indicating money laundering, terrorism financing or that a res originates from a punishable act (reporting obligation). By means of the reporting obligation service providers transmit meaningful information on criminal activities to the HFIU. Service providers shall submit SARs in the form of secure electronic message.
